The component provides a foundation for analysing media products, introducing learners to media language and representation through the study of print and online newspapers.

Learners will develop the ability to:

- Analyse and compare how 'The Sun' and 'The Guardian' construct and communicate meanings and generate intended interpretations and responses.

- Be able to write a written response showing knowledge and understanding of how these newspapers present issues and events.

​

- Explore how media language is used to create and communicate meanings.

​

- To explain how presentations are constricted through use of stereotypes and additional factors.
